Intermec 4100 manual

Setting a ribbon save zone enables ribbon save. Entering no ribbon save zones clears all ribbon save zones within this label. If only one parameter is entered, the command is ignored.

To download commands in Program mode, you must specify the field to be changed. If you do not select a field, the pointer continues to point to the last selected field until a different format or field is selected. They can be defined as part of the bar code field or they can be downloaded as part of the print data. The default for m1 is 0 Code The default for m2 is 0 keep parentheses and spaces. Page Code 39 Prefix Character, Define c1-cn to be loaded into the table. To change an entry in the table, the entire table must be sent to the printer as a string of ASCII characters in hexadecimal form.

Any entry not redefined retains its old value. The printer remains in program mode. The maximum number of characters in a field including non-printing characters is Values can range between 1 and This applies to a graphic field only. This command maps one column of bitmap for a graphic or a font character. The range is from 0 to Page Line Field, Create Or Edit Downloads outline font descriptions where n is the information describing all characters within the font.

This command is only available with the addition of expanded RAM. Values for n can range between 1 and 9. The default page cannot be edited. An error code is generated if a page number is out of range. A higher point size means larger characters. This is a null command and is ignored by the printer. The value ranges from 00 to Causes the printer to begin the printhead resistance test.

Causes the printer to print the pitch label. Transmits the average, maximum, and minimum printhead resistance value back to the host. Each function or feature has a limit that assumes unlimited common memory.

Since several functions may compete for common memory, the memory limit may be reached before the functional limit is reached. Printing Speed Maximum 8.

Page Factory Defaults The following table lists the factory default settings for the printer. You can set these parameters by using downloadable printer commands described in Chapter 7. For information on the printer serial port defaults, which you set by using the rear panel DIP switches, see Chapter 2. One character set supports Advanced mode and the other supports 86XX Emulation mode. The character sets start in the upper left corner of the tables and read from left to right.

In 86XX Emulation mode the international character substitution is compatible with Intermec and bar code printers. The commands are concatenated into one command string within a message. The following table lists the order in which the commands are transmitted and the number bytes in each command. Consult your Intermec representative for a complete list of options. Each printer option includes an instruction sheet. However, you must have the optional Present Sensor installed to print in Self-Strip mode.

For more information, refer to Appendix C. Refer to Chapter 6, Chapter 7, and Appendix C for connection and setup instructions. The printer can be set to scan all communication ports. When it detects incoming data on a port, the printer automatically switches to use that port for both input and output.

Status solid green indicates that the printer is ready for use. Status solid red indicates an error condition see Chapter 9. Intermec Readiness Indicator blue; on, blink, or off.

Represented by a blue light on Intermec handheld computers, access points, and printers, the Intermec Readiness Indicator is part of an exclusive monitoring system from Intermec. The Intermec Readiness Indicator helps users quickly determine the readiness of the Intermec device individually and as part of a solution. When the Indicator is off, the device is not ready to operate individually or as part of a solution.

When the Indicator is blinking, the device may be initializing, waiting for external resources, or in need of user attention. And when the Indicator is On, the device is ready for use as part of a solution. Also see Chapter 9. The display window contains an LCD Liquid Crystal Display with background illumination and two lines of text, each with 16 characters. It shows a message when certain errors occur and guides the operator through upgrading, startup, and setup.

The following errors are reported:. The keyboard is of the membrane-switch type and has 7 keys. Some keys have hard-coded functions in the startup and setup modes.

Repeat last printed label. Possible error messages and information on active communication channels are shown in a loop. The beeper acknowledges that a key has been pressed. Optionally, an audible alarm can be enabled using an IPL command.

It will start beeping at paper out and ribbon our and will continue beeping until the start of reload. This chapter explains how to start up the printer after installation or after having been switched off. Before switching on the printer, make the necessary connections, and check that the printhead is engaged. Wait for a few moments, while the printer loads the program and runs some self-diagnostic tests:.

After a short time, the printer is initialized. The progress of the initialization is indicated by an increasing number of colons on the lower line in the display:. When the initialization is completed, a label is fed out. The following message appears, indicating that the printer is ready for operation.

This chapter explains how to load the printer with media, that is labels, tickets, tags, or strips, for the following modes of operation:. The EasyCoder PX4i can print on labels, tickets, tags, and continuous stock in various forms. Note: Save the label indicating the sensitivity number attached to the media roll. You will need this number to set the media sensitivity, see Appendix D. Fit a new roll of media on the media supply hub and push the roll inwards as far as it will go.

This section describes the case when the media is to be cut off by an automatic paper cutter option. The cutter should not be used to cut through labels, because the adhesive will stick to the shears, which can damage the cutter. The rotating cutting blade can be accidently activated while the cutter is open. Close the cutter unit while pulling at the end of the media. Close the side door and switch on the power. Note: Peel-off operation sets high demands on the media in regard of label stiffness, release characteristics of the adhesive and liner, resistance against electrostatic charging etc.

Consult your media supplier or test the media to ascertain that it is suitable for your application. Welcome to ManualMachine. We have sent a verification link to to complete your registration.
