WiscAd is a Department of Public Instruction-approved route to administration certification program. Students who successfully complete this licensed based equivalency program will be eligible for one of the following Wisconsin administrator certifications:. The WiscAd program meets the Wisconsin DPI administration certification requirements and the partnership with Saint Mary's University of Minnesota allows students to earn graduate credit and have access to financial aid.
Official transcripts and financial aid disbursement are provided by Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. Therefore, students need to apply to both the WiscAd program and Saint Mary's University of Minnesota to become dually enrolled.
Up to 12 graduate credits from the initial administrator WiscAd program can be transferred to Saint Mary's University of Minnesota Master's in Education with a Custom Specialization program. Up to 3 credits from the additional administrator licensed Project Teaching program can be transferred to Saint Mary's University of Minnesota's credit Master of Arts in Education with a Custom Specialization program. The WiscAd program takes 12 months to complete.
There are two semesters of coursework followed by one semester of practicum. The additional licensure program includes a self-paced online workshop and a practicum experience.
During the online workshop, students independently conduct online research to write 9 papers that specifically address the added administration certification area. During the second portion, students are required to conduct their practicum semester for 16 weeks.
Coursework is online. Satisfactory background checks. License Stages Educator licenses issued under Wis. Code PI 34 are based on the following license stages and tiers: Provisional Educator License, Tier II Educators who completed an approved educator preparation program for the first time in a license category Teaching, Administrator or Pupil Services after September 23, , will be issued a provisional educator license for each license within that category.
Lifetime Educator License, Tier III A lifetime educator license may be issued to educators who successfully completed at least six semesters of experience in the category of their provisional educator license and have completed all statutory requirements.
