Uninstall iplayer windows 8

This is a new problem. Up until a few days ago, my Surface RT tablet was perfectly usable for iplayer in the standard web environment using the built in internet explorer. You couldn't download episodes to watch offline later, but the basic functionality was OK. Suddenly today, there is no way to access iplayer through internet explorer. What has changed and why has this happened? I'm suspicious that the Surface RT firmware update a few days ago has altered something in a way which is incompatible with the bbc.

I have had the same issue since the update, hopefully with the 8. I've had my Surface for a couple of months and have been using iPlayer. Tonight it stopped part way through a programme and I'm getting a message to say that my device is not able to support iPlayer. I've not changed any settings etc so I'm at a loss to understand why there is a problem now.
